Fun Fact: “Without a doubt, teaching in a Faith filled environment has been a dream come true.  Every morning when I wake up I say, ‘Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to change a life today.’”

About my class...

The first graders are learning to read, write creative stories, solve math story problems, engage in science experiments and, of course, learn the Phonics Dance.  With high expectations and laughter, I believe a child can achieve anything.

If you walked into my classroom, you would see hands-on activities which allow students to be active learners in discovering their world. Knowing that there is a lot of learning that takes place during the school year, a top priority in my classroom is to get to know each of my students and develop an understanding of their needs.  It is my goal to help your child grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually throughout the year.

If you would like to contact me, you can e-mail me at jselm@stbernadetteamelia.org.  I look forward to talking with you.
